About Henry County Watchdog

Independent Local News. Investigative Reporting. Government Accountability.

When Local News Falls Short, The Watchdog Steps In.

Henry County Watchdog is an independent, locally operated news and investigative reporting website dedicated to keeping the residents of Henry County, Missouri, informed about the issues affecting their communities.

The Watchdog was established in August 2026 to provide another source of local news, with a particular focus on government transparency, public spending, accountability, and stories that may not otherwise receive the attention they deserve.

We believe the public has a right to know what is happening in local government, how decisions are being made, and how those decisions affect the people who live and work here.

Who Is Behind Henry County Watchdog?

Henry County Watchdog was founded and is operated by Michael Rosiere, a Henry County resident, retired United States Air Force veteran, and elected member of the Leesville R-IX School Board.

After serving 21 years in the military, I came to understand the importance of leadership, accountability, and the responsibility that comes with being entrusted to serve others.

My involvement in local government and community issues has given me a firsthand look at how important it is for residents to have access to accurate information about the decisions being made on their behalf.

I started Henry County Watchdog because I believe our community benefits when more people are asking questions, reviewing public records, attending meetings, and taking an interest in what their local officials are doing.

This website is independently operated and is not an official publication of Henry County government, any municipality, school district, or political organization.

What We Cover

Henry County Watchdog focuses on issues of public interest throughout Henry County, including:

Our Approach to Reporting

We believe good reporting starts with asking questions and following the facts.

Whenever possible, our reporting relies on public records, official documents, direct communications, and other verifiable sources.

We make an effort to contact individuals and public officials involved in the stories we cover and provide them with an opportunity to respond.

We also recognize that information can be incomplete and that additional facts may come to light. When corrections are warranted, we believe they should be made openly.

Our goal is to provide readers with information they can examine and use to form their own conclusions.

Independence and Transparency

Henry County Watchdog is independently operated. The views expressed in opinion articles are not presented as objective news reporting.

Having personal opinions or participating in community affairs does not eliminate the responsibility to report facts accurately and distinguish verified information from commentary.

We believe the same standards of accountability we expect from public officials should apply to our own work.
